ECG is not for sale – Energy Ministry
The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has clarified that the selection of a transaction advisor for Private Sector Participation (PSP) in the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) does not signal a sale or divestiture of the company.
The Ministry, in a press statement dated Tuesday [December 30, 2025] explained that the Cabinet approved the PSP in April 2025 as part of reforms to improve billing, revenue collection, service delivery, and reduce losses at ECG.
