IERPP warns of slowing, fragile growth as Ghana records 5.5% GDP expansion in Q3 2025

Prof. Isaac BoadiThe Institute for Economic Research, Public and Policy (IERPP) has raised concerns about Ghana’s latest GDP figures, warning that the headline growth of 5.5% recorded in the third quarter of 2025 masks weakening underlying economic conditions and deepening structural vulnerabilities.

In a position paper released by the institute, led by Prof. Isaac Boadi of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), the think tank argues that the economy is “expanding on the surface but losing momentum underneath,” pointing to slowing growth across key sectors and increasing exposure to external and domestic risks.
